ABOUT US

History of

Vantage Movement

Vantage began like most businesses,

as a dream in 2006. The founders, Chris and Amanda, were working as personal trainers in a commercial gym and were introduced to a new method of training they soon found to be their passion.

After spending five years in commercial facilities, they knew they could impact more lives by opening their own gym. Their goal has always been to be the best part of their members day and treat classes as personal training in a group setting. Their mission is to be an inclusive space that promotes a lifestyle of health, wellness and self-development.

We have been operating since 2012.

I was born and raised in Denver, CO. I have been passionate about sports and fitness since I can remember- playing every sport that I could since I was a child. My favorite past athletic activities include football, baseball, track, wrestling, weight lifting and bodybuilding. I started CrossFit in the summer of 2015, when my wife and I decided to change up our gym routine. I was hooked after my first class. I fell in love with the intensity of the workouts and the supportive community that grinds together through every workout. Not only have I participated in sports as an athlete, but also as a Coach. My previous coaching experience includes over a decade of coaching high school wrestling programs starting as an assistance and strength/conditioning Coach and working my way up to Head Coach. One of my greatest passions in life is helping others reach their goals in becoming a better version of themselves and achieve feats they never dreamed were possible. By coaching CrossFit, I have the privilege and opportunity to pursue this passion everyday.

Coach & Personal Trainer

Born and raised in New York City, fitness and sports were dwarfed by the lights of broadway! When a career in the arts was clearly not in the cards, I got a degree in English, moved to Washington, D.C. and began my career in journalism. Fast forward 30 years. Overweight and out of shape approaching my 50th birthday, I started going to the local Globo GYM, began lifting weights and running, lost 70 pounds, and found my passion for fitness. A personal trainer there suggested I watch the first "Fittest on Earth" documentary and I was hooked. In 2018, the mountains called! My husband and I left our six kids and our moms back on the east coast and moved to Denver. Within a week of moving I joined Vantage, and it changed my life. I learned first-hand that age truly is just a number. Older athletes can succeed-and thrive-right alongside all the other athletes in the GYM. My passion has grown from simple fitness to striving to create a safe, encouraging environment for older athletes so we can all continue to get healthier together, at any age.

JENELLE

Coach & Personal Trainer

I never really settled into a hobby or sport as a kid - Gymnastics, Swimming, Soccer, Volleyball, Football, even Basketball (I'm 5'1″ - clearly not well thought out). As an adult, I discovered Running and Yoga, and messed around with weights at Globo-Gyms with no real idea of what I was doing. When I lived in the mountains, winters were long and tough, and I was relieved (and intimidated) when a couple firefighters decided to open a CrossFit Gym. Unlike other sports, the variety, mental challenge, and sharing the grind with amazing people kept me engaged. Despite all the dabbling, I never considered myself an Athlete until CrossFit. I love training with others, seeing people push themselves, feeling the pride of accomplishing something they never would have imagined. I've learned so much about the human body and met incredible people as a Coach. It's been a lifeline through really hard seasons of life. Nowadays, most of my hours are busy running a local nonprofit and getting outside with my senior dogs, but we make time for what's important. My goal is to just keep moving, prevent and be smart about injuries, and stay active for the rest of my life.

Coach & Personal Trainer

Originally from Rockford, Illinois, you could say I always had a rocky relationship with exercise. I tried every sport in my middle school years but nothing ever "stuck" or really sparked my interest. Throughout High School, I started lifting weights and using the "bro split" approach, but something always felt missing. While in school at Bradley University studying nutrition, I discovered the sport of Olympic Weightlifting and everything clicked. I realized I loved working towards strength, technique, and performance goals. I have been training and competing in the Oly Lifts for the last 3 years until, again, I was feeling something was missing. I hated that I couldn't run a mile without dying and had absolutely no stamina. I tried out a CrossFit class and immediately realized how much my fitness routine was missing and wanted to become a more rounded athlete. While I love continuing to learn and get better myself, my passion really lies in helping others discover their "Why" and to feel confident and strong in the GYM (and everywhere else in life!) I recognize that fitness is not a one size fits all approach and also do not believe that fitness has one "look". I hope to help everyone I work with discover what fitness looks like and means to them as an individual to create a long term, enjoyable, and sustainable fitness routine.

I moved to Colorado in 2019 after completing my Dietetic Internship in Illinois and passing my board exams. Currently, I work full time as a Dietitian specializing in Eating Disorders and Athletes. I am incredibly passionate about helping active individuals learn how to fuel their bodies through a non-restrictive lense to build a healthy relationship with food and their bodies that will last forever. I am hugely passionate about raising awareness around eating disorders and the dangers of under fueling, as well as promoting and fighting for accessibility to health for all individuals. Outside of Olympic Lifting and CrossFit, I recently gained an interest in rock climbing and spend most of my summer weekends scaling mountain walls. I also love hanging out with my dog, hiking, camping, and finding the best restaurants in Denver!

Born in Chicago, IL. I grew up playing every sport I could, getting an opportunity to stay active, and hang with my Best Friend. I played Basketball, Roller Hockey, Football, Golf, and BMX. I was so active, I had broken four bones and five surgeries by the time I turned 18. I moved to Colorado for college and found a fervent love for the outdoors. Although I stayed active and competed in races, I never found a consistent routine for working out: I trained hard for races and ate like Homer Simpson in the offseason. While training for an Olympic Triathlon in 2016, a friend recommended supplementing my training with CrossFit. I dropped in at a Local Box pretty confident of my endurance- but I got rocked (wallballs). I was hooked after that and I started going several times a week; finally finding a routine and healthy rhythm in my life. Now, the pursuit of fitness is a value for my whole family. My life's purpose is to help others realize their full potential through coaching and teaching. Whether I am facilitating for large organizations, teaching graduate school, or coaching, I am in my happy place.

COLE

Coach

I like fitness just as much as the next guy, but what really got me into coaching and instructing is the ability to pass knowledge onto others. I started coaching at 15 when I was living on Long Island and giving Lacrosse lessons. Those were always extremely rewarding to me and I pursued my career in coaching at college where I would eventually intern with the D1 Athletes from High Point University and Coach Olympic Lifting Classes at one of the local CrossFit Gyms. From there I have expanded my realm of knowledge to ideologies like animal flow and barefoot training. I hope in my ventures I can dive into any and every fitness topic and expand my mind even more!

Certifications: B.S. In Exercise Science, CrossFit Level 1, USAW Certification, Animal Flow Coaching Certification

Coach

I played soccer from the time I could walk all the way through High School. In College I decided to put my freshman 15 to good use and play Rugby. Since I have accumulated enough injuries for many lifetimes, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to be active anymore. CrossFit has saved me mentally and physically, it has been my happy place on and off for about a decade. I started the program unaware that anyone can do it. My mom and I became workout buds. Thanks to the power of scaling and community, I was able to get back into fitness safely, and my mom was able to increase her strength and physical abilities. I wanted to be a Coach because of the incredible influence that my coaches have had on me through nutritional work and general fitness. I love CrossFit because everyone is welcome regardless of their fitness level or scaling needs. Every day that you show up is a win.

Colorado has been my home most of my life. I grew up playing every team sport I had time for. Once I went to College, I stopped all activity and it caught up with me. I had always loved being active but was missing that team atmosphere. After I graduated from Colorado State University, I moved to San Jose, CA for 7 years. After many failed attempts to sticking with a routine at a Gym, I found CrossFit in 2010. I immediately fell in love with the competitive yet supportive atmosphere. Prior to CrossFit, I had never lifted weights before, and it ignited my passion for the sport. In 2011, I began competing on my Gym's regionals team and obtained my Level 1 Certification. I was lucky to coach at my Gym in San Jose from 2012-2016. When I moved backed to Colorado in 2016, I quickly found Vantage and knew it would be my home.

As a coach and member, I still distinctly remember the first time I walked into a CrossFit Gym and the emotions I had. I love meeting new members and being a part of their journey. I believe the best part about being a coach is helping people realize that they can do more than they ever thought they were capable of. My drive for health pushed me to get my Precision Nutrition Certification. I am now the proud owner of Moxie Made Nutrition.

As a Colorado native, having an active lifestyle has been my only true way of being. Outdoor activities and movement are the way I grew up and are now a primary value for my own young family. I enjoyed running half marathons for numerous years but after starting a family, the amount of time a long run required began to be too much and started to take its toll on my joints. My spouse started CrossFit training and I joined up as well in 2017. Functional fitness, dynamic movements, a fun environment and crazy results have kept me going in a sustainable fashion that I want for the rest of my life. Now I get to work with all of these amazing people who are in it for the daily enjoyment, sense of achievement and community that keeps us all going! I look forward to helping you begin or continue your fitness journey here at Vantage Movement!
