CARYN
Born and raised in New York City, fitness and sports were dwarfed by the lights of broadway! When a career in the arts was clearly not in the cards, I got a degree in English, moved to Washington, D.C. and began my career in journalism. Fast forward 30 years. Overweight and out of shape approaching my 50th birthday, I started going to the local Globo GYM, began lifting weights and running, lost 70 pounds, and found my passion for fitness. A personal trainer there suggested I watch the first "Fittest on Earth" documentary and I was hooked. In 2018, the mountains called! My husband and I left our six kids and our moms back on the east coast and moved to Denver. Within a week of moving I joined Vantage, and it changed my life. I learned first-hand that age truly is just a number. Older athletes can succeed-and thrive-right alongside all the other athletes in the GYM. My passion has grown from simple fitness to striving to create a safe, encouraging environment for older athletes so we can all continue to get healthier together, at any age.
Qualifications: CF-L1 Trainer

RAY
I was born and raised in Denver, CO. I have been passionate about sports and fitness since I can remember- playing every sport that I could since I was a child. My favorite past athletic activities include football, baseball, track, wrestling, weight lifting and bodybuilding. I started CrossFit in the summer of 2015, when my wife and I decided to change up our gym routine. I was hooked after my first class. I fell in love with the intensity of the workouts and the supportive community that grinds together through every workout. Not only have I participated in sports as an athlete, but also as a Coach. My previous coaching experience includes over a decade of coaching high school wrestling programs starting as an assistance and strength/conditioning Coach and working my way up to Head Coach. One of my greatest passions in life is helping others reach their goals in becoming a better version of themselves and achieve feats they never dreamed were possible. By coaching CrossFit, I have the privilege and opportunity to pursue this passion everyday.
Certifications:
CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Level2, CPR and First Aid CSCS
JENELLE
I never really settled into a hobby or sport as a kid - Gymnastics, Swimming, Soccer, Volleyball, Football, even Basketball (I'm 5'1″ - clearly not well thought out). As an adult, I discovered Running and Yoga, and messed around with weights at Globo-Gyms with no real idea of what I was doing. When I lived in the mountains, winters were long and tough, and I was relieved (and intimidated) when a couple firefighters decided to open a CrossFit Gym. Unlike other sports, the variety, mental challenge, and sharing the grind with amazing people kept me engaged. Despite all the dabbling, I never considered myself an Athlete until CrossFit. I love training with others, seeing people push themselves, feeling the pride of accomplishing something they never would have imagined. I've learned so much about the human body and met incredible people as a Coach. It's been a lifeline through really hard seasons of life. Nowadays, most of my hours are busy running a local nonprofit and getting outside with my senior dogs, but we make time for what's important. My goal is to just keep moving, prevent and be smart about injuries, and stay active for the rest of my life.

I’m originally from Colorado Springs and moved up to Denver in 2014. My daughter just
started first grade and keeps me on my toes as she wants to try all the new activities
and sports. I’ve been an athlete all my life, playing baseball, football, and soccer in my
younger years. I got into tennis and softball as an adult and have been a runner for the
past 11 years, entering at least a couple of races each year. After some overuse
injuries, I started focusing on core strength and mobility. I discovered yoga six years
ago and began Nogi Jiu Jitsu in 2019. My yoga practice helped me in Jiu Jitsu and
running gave me a good cardio base, but I needed more strength. I did classic
resistance training occasionally throughout my life until finally focusing on functional
fitness - mostly kettlebell, calisthenics, and HIIT which translates well to grappling. I
began informally working with coworkers, friends, and family in 2020 and found so much reward in helping others – seeing them feeling better and having better function in daily activities. That really planted the seed to pursue fitness as a career.
Since then, I’ve obtained a variety of national certifications, and I am very excited to be a part of the Vantage team! It’s a pleasure to work alongside the great coaches here at Vantage Movement as well as coaching the incredible athletes that make our gym special.
Qualifications: NASM CPT, CNC, CWC, CES, American Red Cross CPR/AED certified
Born in Chicago, IL. I grew up playing every sport I could, getting an opportunity to stay active, and hang with my Best Friend. I played Basketball, Roller Hockey, Football, Golf, and BMX. I was so active, I had broken four bones and five surgeries by the time I turned 18. I moved to Colorado for college and found a fervent love for the outdoors. Although I stayed active and competed in races, I never found a consistent routine for working out: I trained hard for races and ate like Homer Simpson in the offseason. While training for an Olympic Triathlon in 2016, a friend recommended cross training. I dropped in at a Local Box pretty confident of my endurance- but I got rocked (wall balls). I was hooked after that and I started going several times a week; finally finding a routine and healthy rhythm in my life. Now, the pursuit of fitness is a value for my whole family. My life's purpose is to help others realize their full potential through coaching and teaching. Whether I am facilitating for large organizations, teaching graduate school, or coaching, I am in my happy place.

I’m from Skaneateles, NY and I moved to Denver in 2017. I was an EMT for four years but now I’m transitioning into coaching full time. I love to ski, hike and camp - really anything outside! I got started at Vantage this past summer in their coaching internship program. I’ve learned so much and have been having such a great time coaching, taking classes, and getting to know all the athletes!
Qualifications: EMT
MIKE
I started cross-training/functional fitness in Wisconsin in 2011. I quickly fell in love with how much better I felt, and how it translated into improvement in so many different activities/sports. I've always loved the opportunity to share my knowledge and passions with others to help them improve. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity in 2016 to become a cross-training/functional fitness coach in Indianapolis. I coached there for 3 years until moving to CO in 2019.
When I got to CO, I joined a few different gyms, but didn't feel like the culture of the gyms was a great fit for me. Finally, I found Vantage! I love how this gym has a focus on meeting every athlete where they are by supporting and challenging them to get a little better every day. That makes this gym so approachable, and makes the community so much stronger, as we are all helping to push each other in a positive, fun atmosphere. That is the kind of culture I want to support, and I am honored to have the opportunity to do so.
Qualifications: Four years of group training experience and former certifications.

Colorado has been my home most of my life. I grew up playing every team sport I had time for. Once I went to College, I stopped all activity and it caught up with me. I had always loved being active but was missing that team atmosphere. After I graduated from Colorado State University, I moved to San Jose, CA for 7 years. After many failed attempts to sticking with a routine at a Gym, I found cross training in 2010. I immediately fell in love with the competitive yet supportive atmosphere. Prior to this, I had never lifted weights before, and it ignited my passion for the sport. In 2011, I began competing on my Gym's regionals team and obtained my Level 1 Certification. I was lucky to coach at my Gym in San Jose from 2012-2016. When I moved backed to Colorado in 2016, I quickly found Vantage and knew it would be my home.
As a coach and member, I still distinctly remember the first time I walked into a Gym and the emotions I had. I love meeting new members and being a part of their journey. I believe the best part about being a coach is helping people realize that they can do more than they ever thought they were capable of. My drive for health pushed me to get my Precision Nutrition Certification. I am now the proud owner of Moxie Made Nutrition.
Qualifications: Two-Brain Coaching First Degree Coach and Precision Nutrition Level 1 (PN1)
KATELYN
Growing up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, I recently moved to
Colorado for the more active and outdoorsy lifestyle (and the mountains of course). I
first got into training while I was in high school, but never really understood what kind of training to do to help me reach my personal goals. When I went off to college, I decided to get my BA in Health and Human Physiology/Exercise science, and fell in love with the physical and mental benefits from regularly moving my body.
Training has truly become a passion of mine, and I love discovering new ways to
get active. Living in Colorado has given me more opportunities to be active on a daily
basis, whether it’s training in the gym, or going on a hike. Vantage Movement has
introduced me to a community of like minded individuals, and I can’t wait to help people reach their health and fitness goals.

As a Colorado native, having an active lifestyle has been my only true way of being. Outdoor activities and movement are the way I grew up and are now a primary value for my own young family. I enjoyed running half marathons for numerous years but after starting a family, the amount of time a long run required began to be too much and started to take its toll on my joints. My spouse started cross training and I joined up as well in 2017. Functional fitness, dynamic movements, a fun environment and crazy results have kept me going in a sustainable fashion that I want for the rest of my life. Now I get to work with all of these amazing people who are in it for the daily enjoyment, sense of achievement and community that keeps us all going! I look forward to helping you begin or continue your fitness journey here at Vantage Movement!
